Bakktz NV
BAKKTZ NV invests in and collaborates with companies and entrepreneurs with the aim of creating sustainable long-term value.
This Code of Conduct describes the fundamental principles that BAKKTZ applies in its relationships with entrepreneurs, shareholders, employees, advisers, investors and other business partners.
We deliberately keep these principles simple and practical. As BAKKTZ and its portfolio companies continue to grow, these principles may be further developed.
1. Integrity and Trust
BAKKTZ acts honestly, professionally and with integrity.
We strive for clear agreements, honour the commitments we make and treat entrepreneurs, partners and other stakeholders with respect.
Business decisions are made on the basis of substantive and economic considerations, with due regard for the interests of the parties involved.
2. Laws and Regulations
BAKKTZ respects the laws and regulations applicable in the countries in which it operates.
We expect the same approach from our employees, directors, business partners and the companies in which we invest.
3. Conflicts of Interest
Potential conflicts of interest are identified as early as possible and handled in a transparent and careful manner.
Individuals involved in BAKKTZ decision-making are expected to disclose personal or business interests that could influence their independent judgement.
4. Confidentiality
BAKKTZ handles confidential information received from entrepreneurs, companies, shareholders, investors, employees, advisers and other stakeholders with care.
Confidential information is used solely for the purpose for which it was provided and is not shared with third parties without a valid reason or consent, unless required by law.
5. Transparent Communication
BAKKTZ aims for clear, accurate and non-misleading communication.
We want entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to understand the basis on which decisions are made and agreements are reached.
Where information is confidential or commercially sensitive, that confidentiality is respected.
6. Responsible Shareholdership
BAKKTZ aims to be more than a provider of capital alone.
As an active shareholder, we support our portfolio companies where relevant in strategy, growth, professionalisation, governance and value creation.
In doing so, we respect the entrepreneurship and responsibility of the management teams within our portfolio companies.
Our starting point is to build healthy companies with a long-term perspective.
7. People and Entrepreneurship
BAKKTZ believes that strong companies are built by strong entrepreneurs and teams.
We strive for a professional working environment in which people are treated with respect and where discrimination, harassment and inappropriate behaviour are not accepted.
When selecting entrepreneurs, directors, employees and business partners, we consider competence, integrity, entrepreneurship and the contribution that an individual can make to the company.
8. Responsible Business
When making decisions, BAKKTZ takes into account relevant financial and non-financial risks that may affect the company and its stakeholders.
We strive for responsible business practices and sustainable long-term value creation, appropriate to the nature, scale and stage of development of BAKKTZ and its portfolio companies.

9. Compliance
Everyone acting on behalf of BAKKTZ is expected to respect these principles.
Questions or potential breaches of this Code of Conduct may be reported to the board of directors of BAKKTZ NV.
This Code of Conduct may be amended as BAKKTZ grows, its activities evolve or laws and regulations require it.
